Mathew is a South African and Irish Citizen.
Mathew is a holder of a degree in accounting and finance and has been working in the wealth management sector for over 20 years. Mathew joined Amicorp UK Ltd (part of the global Amicorp Group) as a senior financial accountant for the Wealth Division which has offices in over 40 countries. He was responsible for the oversight of their UHNW structured book including investment funds related to UK operations.
Mathew left Amicorp UK Ltd in 2010 and founded what is now called the Bulldog Global Financial Services UK Ltd, also known as the Bulldog Group. This is a regulated ICAEW chartered accountancy firm. Mathew is a regulated person overseen by ICAEW (The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) as well as under HMRC for AML. The company is licenced under the new regulations “Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act”. It provides full support services for several trading companies including full accounting and back-office support functions as well as banking solutions though its shareholding in Bulldog Axiom.
In addition to his work with the Bulldog Group, Mathew sits on the investment advisory committee and directly oversees and manages the Emerging Growth Fund (2013-2025) which is incorporated in the British Virgin Islands and Pinnacle Investment Fund (2017-2025) and is incorporated in the Cayman Islands. Mathew’s notable works in the Pinnacle Investment fund included the negotiation of the purchase and sale of a major medical chain in the EU from private hands to a major listed player. As well as 5 years of trial and then eventual success of a major EU construction group, after a number of buyers were not accepted, a management buyout was negotiated resulting in a significant windfall for both portfolio’s investors. The fund together with Mathew are invested extensively into Venture Capital in the Fintech amongst other AI driven Pharma diagnosis. Mathew also holds 100% shareholding in a Cayman SPC Private Investment fund called Onsen Global Alpha Fund (2016-2025).
Currently, Mathew is working to complete a funding round supporting a Private Family office in the UAE to place a 120m financing of Long Dates Preference shares with investors, working with a number of Singapore Private Banks, as well as UK Asset Managers. In 2017 the Bulldog Group founded Bulldog DMCC in UAE, which is now Mera to expand into MENA as well as into the Asia. Mathew is a shareholder of Mera which is a regulated licenced DMCC company in UAE licenced for company formation and advisory services in partnership with a number of key partners in the DIFC for investment and funding. It does formation of companies in the UAE and globally and supports UHNW clients with asset holding and bespoke corporate solutions. Clients are global including EU.
